I am 23 years old and squeaking out a living in the small mountain town
of Durango, Colorado though I'm a native of Clackamas, Oregon. This is
my second summer of playing competatively. My brother introduced me to
disc golf 3 years ago at McIver State Park in Estacada. Living in Durango
makes it quite hard to make it to tournaments being that virtually every
tourney is a good 5 hour drive away over a minimum of 2 major mountain
passes. Luckily, my employers have been very supportive of my obsession
which often requires me to miss a day or two of work for travel. The reason
I would love a sponsorship is so that I can attend an A-Tier event for
the first time at the Colorado State Championships in Colorado Springs
this October. My game has improved dramatically the past couple of months
(have won my first two tourneys and shot under par during a tournament
round for the first time) and I'd like to see how I stack up in an A-Tier
event. Attending this event would require missed work, a 5-6 hour drive
in a car older than I am, lodging and food expenses and the other usual
incidentals. So, any financial help available would be greatly appreciated.
I am thankful for an organization like Sassy Pants that is out there trying
to get more women out playing. Don't get me wrong-I love playing with
the boys most the time but it's great to have an awesome group of women
to play a round with. Here's to Chicks with Discs!
